Description
Handmade Camel Doll from Tajmir Village
This doll is crafted by Haydeh and Fatemeh, two talented sisters from Tajmir village in Sarbisheh, South Khorasan. Tajmir dolls hold dozens of stories from the village, recalling lullabies, old poems, and memories of rural nomadic life.
Since the year the carbon sequestration project was implemented in Naz Dasht and Tajmir villages of Sarbisheh, and the revival of local handmade dolls to create sustainable supplementary livelihoods, the village’s business has flourished. For the past two years, they have started making camels alongside their dolls, combining them with the traditional Tajmir dolls.
In recent years, Tajmir has transformed from an unknown, deprived village into a hub for traditional doll production, attracting many tourists eager to see these unique handmade dolls.
