Balochi Embroidered Bracelet (Beinag-Yellow)

Description

These Balochi traditional embroidered bracelets are made by women artisans of Seydbar Village in the South Khorasan Province. They are decorated with colorful traditional embroideries and tiny mirrors.

“Beinag” means “Honey” in Balochi language.

Women artisans of Iran’s Balochistan are really tasteful and innovative. They make pieces of jewelry such as earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and anklets. Sometimes they innovatively make them from remaining embroidered pieces of cloths which make their product more sustainable.

Balochi embroidery

Passing from generation to generation, Balochi embroidery is one of the ancient traditional handicrafts. The exclusive design is a mixture of tiny mirrors, appealing colors of fabric, and patterns with colorful threads. The needlework mostly covering the front of dresses or shirts, the cuffs of pants and sleeves, and also on the pockets.

Handcrafting an embroidered Balochi dress takes more than two months and as you can guess it costs a lot. Surprisingly, women artisans who make these Balochi cloths do not use any diagram, they all use their own creative minds, and that’s why the design and patterns are unique for each dress.

The popularity of Baloch needlework products became an opportunity for local Baloch women to be independent in making money from their traditional handicrafts. These creative artisans produced a wide range of new products like accessories, handbags, and even home decoration items like cushions using traditional Balochi needlework.

A part of the sale’s benefit of this product will go back to the Seydbar Village project for developing education conditions of students
