The Story of Card Weaving (Varis Bafi):
Varis Bafi is a traditional form of card weaving practiced by Bakhtiari nomads for centuries. Unlike loom weaving, it is done using simple perforated cards to create strong, decorative bands. Each belt carries with it the rhythm of nomadic life, seasonal migration (Kuch), and the enduring artistry of Iran’s tribal communities.
Made in Shazdeh Abdollah – Heart of the Nomadic South
Shazdeh Abdollah is a seasonal nomadic region in southwest Iran, with winter camps in Khuzestan and summer pastures in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari. Rooztatish collaborates with local women here to revive ancestral crafts through practical, wearable designs that empower local economies.
Care Instructions:
Hand wash with cold water and mild soap. Avoid prolonged sun exposure or high heat to preserve the natural leather.
