These charming couple puppets wearing local wedding dress has been handmade in Beshdareh Village which is located in the Khorasan Province of Iran. The cultivated artisan women made this Kormanji puppet exactly the same as the original traditional styles of couples in their village.
The height of these puppets is about 20 cm and they are made with pieces of wood and cloth. These puppets of Kormanji puppets are great gifts for the kids as they can make creative stories and plays with them while they learn about indigenous people living in Iran.
Maybe you wonder why these puppets are faceless! The answer’s root is in traditional and religious beliefs; the elders believed it’s just God’s job to create character and face and humans don’t have the ability to make the face!
